You can access the application using a Pocket
PC PDA. The following devices are supported:
- Pocket PC 2003
- Windows Mobile 5.0
The Pocket PC version is a specially written
'mini' version that connects
directly to the web server. It uses the
inbuilt internet connection provided by GPRS Wireless LAN, GPRS,
3G, Bluetooth etc. to keep you up to date anywhere, anytime.
All data transferred is compressed and encrypted
and kept to a minimum, so it's fast, safe and
cost effective.
How it works
You use the same user logon that you have set
up for Desktop / Web Browser access. However,
before the user logon can be used for PDA access
the user must be edited by the User
Administrator to allow that user to have PDA
access (PDA Enabled checkbox in User Details
window).
In order to run the software on the PDA you
must download and install the Pocket PC
Application.
The PDA works just like the Desktop version.
Data entered will be updated to the server
immediately if an internet connection is
established. If an internet connection is not
open then any work will be saved on the PDA and
updated the next time a connection is made. The
data can also be refreshed manually at specified
intervals (auto refresh) to keep the data server
and the PDA in line.
